Urban mobility faces several challenges. We need solutions to accelerate the transformation towards a sustainable mobility ecosystem with a focus on securing and developing liveable urban spaces. This requires a systemic approach involving all key stakeholder groups and calls for change regarding what we do and how it is done.
A key element in managing this transformation is to close the knowledge and skills gap within Europe's urban mobility area. We need to make sure that the required capabilities and capacity are available to plan for and handle the transformation and to be relevant in a new context, a new urban mobility paradigm. These education and training needs can be summarised as the ability to implement and leverage new technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, and system transformation and change.
As a critical part of the strategy of EIT Urban Mobility is expanding education activities within RIS regions with the aim to foster the innovation and entrepreneurship skills of students in the RIS countries.
