The MARLIT European project, in which our School's Maritime Engineering Laboratory (LIM) participates, has been awarded by the European Commission with the Atlantic Project 2022 prize, as the best initiative in the 'Oceans Healthy and Resilient Coast' category..
The objective of the MARLIT project is to improve knowledge and tools to understand the impact of current and future storms on the coast, so that public administrations can help in coastal risk management.
The MARLIT project is 65% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) through the Interreg V-A Spain-France-Andorra Program. It also includes the participation of the Dirección de Atención de Emergencias y Meteorología (DAEM) of the Vasc Government, the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya, SUEZ EAU FRANCE Rivages Pro Tech; the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) and the Communauté d’Agglomération Pays Basque (APB). On behalf of the LIM, the main researchers are Manuel Espino and Daniel González Marco.
