UPC students participate in the international competition organized by the European EngiMath Project: Mathematics Online Learning Model in Engineering Education and obtain first and second place.

David Bonet, student of Civil Engineering, and Yaoyao Chao, student of Geomatics, scored first and second place in the international competition organized by the European EngiMath Project: Mathematics Online Learning Model in Engineering Education (Ref: 2018-1-EE01-KA203 -047098). The EngiMath consortium is made up of 6 European universities and its objective, among others, is to develop online teaching material in 7 languages (which include Catalan and Spanish) for a basic introductory course on linear algebra in the context of engineering studies.

The UPC node consists of professors Carles Serrat, M. Montserrat Bruguera and Chara Pantazi, from the Department of Mathematics, M. Rosa Estela, from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Marc Alier, from the Department of Service and Information System Engineering.

This week an international competition was held between students from the six members of the consortium, in which three students from each university represented them. After a week of solving challenges (in the context of algebra and logic), totally online, of cooperative work with the rest of the international representatives, nationally, and also individually, David and Yaoyao winned the first and second place at the international level.

As part of Barcelona School of Civil Engineering we are proud to have such students and would like to convey our congratulations!
