Ricardo Giesen is Director of the BRT+ Centre of Excellence (www.brt.cl) and Associate Professor at the Department of Transport Engineering and Logistics at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC). He received his PhD in Transportation Systems from the University of Maryland College Park in 2007, and before a M.S. in Transportation Engineering in 1998 and a B.S. in Civil and Industrial Engineering in 1995 from the PUC. He specializes in operations of transportation systems, public transit planning and operations, and logistics and distribution optimization.

Anna Ramon Tarragona has been awarded the Walter Wittke Prize in Weinheim (Germany) the 23rd of May 2019 for her contribution to the chemical-thermodynamical and hydromechanical description of the mechanisms of expansion in sulphated rocks and soils and to the application of the developed models to case histories.
Doctor Savvas Saloustros from the Analysis and Technology of Structures and Materials group (ATEM) was awarded the “2018 The Masonry Society Outstanding PhD Dissertation Award” for his PhD dissertation “Tracking of localized cracks in the computational analysis of masonry structures”, supervised by Prof. Luca Pelà and Prof. Miguel Cervera from Barcelona School of Civil Engineering.
