The event, under the theme "Camins Connected: Knowledge and Society," will feature a roundtable discussion with industry leaders to discuss the future of civil engineering and university-business collaboration.
Next Wednesday, October 15th, at 12:00 p.m., the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering will hold the official opening ceremony for the 2025-2026 academic year. The event, which will take place in the José A. Torroja Auditorium of the School of Civil Engineering, will serve as a platform for the public presentation of the new Business and Social Council, a strategic advisory body designed to strengthen the link between the School and the industrial, institutional, and social fabric.
The Business and Social Council is composed of renowned representatives from leading companies, public administrations, research centers, and social organizations. Its mission will be to guide the School's strategic lines, foster partnerships, and mobilize resources to promote teaching and research projects with a high social impact.
The central event of the inauguration will be the roundtable discussion "Camins Connected: Knowledge and Society", which will mark the first public address by the Council members. This debate will address the trends that will shape the future of the profession and the fundamental role of synergies between the academic and professional spheres.
At the end of the event, we will inaugurate the Camins Connected room and celebrate the start of the academic year with a glass of cava and snacks for all attendees. It will be an excellent opportunity to meet again, discuss, and share expectations for this new academic year.
