El dilluns 27 de febrer, a l'aula D2-216, de 9:30h a 10:30h s'impartirà el seminari de recerca: "Channelization of an Arid Permafrost Landscape: Observations and Synthesis", a càrrec de Shawn Chartrand, Assistant Professor, geophysical and environmental scientist, School of Environmental Science, Simon Fraser University (Canada). His research focuses on how rivers form and co-evolve with landscapes, with particular interest in mountain rivers and cold regions of the Arctic.

El 10 de febrer de 2023, amb motiu del Dia Internacional de les Dones i les Nenes en la Ciència, professores i investigadores de l’Escola de Camins participaran en la 5a edició de #100tífiques.
El dimecres 8 de febrer a les 12h tindrà lloc la sessió informativa virtual MOU-TE sobre els programes d'intercanvi internacional per al curs 2023-24, on es presentaran les diverses opcions i destins per fer una estada acadèmica a l’estranger.
El proper 10 de febrer, en el marc de les activitats organitzades per la UPC per celebrar el Dia Internacional de la dona i la Nena en la Ciència, la professora Esther Real, directora de l’Escola de Camins, presentarà l’Agenda Escolar TEC.
The Generalitat de Catalunya has awarded the Narcís Monturiol Medal for scientific and technological merit to Xavier Oliver, professor of our School. The ceremony took place on January 25, in the Palau de la Generalitat Auditorium.
The Rector Gabriel Ferraté Library has produced a new edition of the bibliometric study with information on the scientific production of the researchers of Barcelona School of Civil Engineering, the impact of their publications and the positioning of the School versus other European and international universities.
The Centre de Recerca Aplicada en Hidrometeorologia (CRAHI) integrated by several professors from the School, participates in the European project RESIST - Regions for climate change resilience through Innovation, Science and Technology.
The Laboratory of Marine Engineeriing (LIM) at Barcelona School of Civil Engineering (UPC BarcelonaTech) lead the PI-BREAK project (“Predictive Intelligent system to optimize BREAKwater maintenance”), which addresses the challenge of extending the lifespan of port infrastructure under a range of future climatic/exploitation scenarios. Predictive maintenance is a technique to minimize failures and/or reduce their consequences in many applications and it can be used for a range of coastal infrastructure, such as breakwaters, to extend their useful life while reducing impacts, risks and costs.
The MARLIT European project, in which our School's Maritime Engineering Laboratory (LIM) participates, has been awarded by the European Commission with the Atlantic Project 2022 prize, as the best initiative in the 'Oceans Healthy and Resilient Coast' category..

Prof. Antonio Gens, professor at Barcelona School of Civil Engineering and member of CIMNE's Geomechanics research group, has been elected president of the Spanish Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering by its Board of Directors.
