Professor Enrique Mirambell, distinguished with the prestigious Medal for Professional Merit from the Catalonian Civil Engineers Association for his contributions to the development and prestige of civil engineering in research, teaching and technology transfer in the field of structural engineering.
Enrique Mirambell, professor at the UPC, has developed an extensive academic career since 1982, training generations of engineers and contributing significantly to scientific progress in structural engineering. He has actively participated in more than 30 national and European research projects, has supervised 12 doctoral theses and has published more than 250 scientific articles and 22 books.
He maintains a permanent relationship with companies and administrations in the sector with the aim of promoting research and transfer knowledge. As a result of this relationship, it is worth highlighting the presidency of the Spanish Eurocode 3 Committee since 2000 and the general report of the Structural Steel Instruction (EAE), for which he was awarded, in 2011, the "Encomienda de la Orden del Mérito Civil", at the proposal of the Spanish Ministry of Public Works, for services rendered to the State.
Enrique Mirambell, through teaching, research, and regulatory leadership, has contributed decisively to the advancement of modern structural design.
